ok, so its looking like next weekend is a no-go. the floods are starting to come which means i'm going to be needed at work (or at least on call) until the end of may. i think instead i'm going to take the suggestion to get another pan and try welding to that. really appreciate the offer to help tho! i'm sure i'll be begging  for help again before my project is done Wink

Looks like you are planning to weld, but I thought this may help.
It's the installation manual from skidrow.  May give you some ideas.

This is how I will be mounting mine, and I assume Jim as well, since we built this style last year.
Pics aren't the greatest so if you want to see the full manual, let me know.

I looked at the one Jim has and I don't think he has it on yet . . .

It looks like it would take a rubbing allright, but if the Jeep came down very hard or landed on a rock with any weight, looks like those pieces of angle iron would fold up or rotate on the mounting bolts. Maybe if you welded the angle on the side by the plate it would take more of a beating.

Looks like a 3/16" or 1/4" plate welded on the pan would take a lot more punishment and be stronger.  Grin
